A Tribute to Mom From Kraft Eden

It was a Friday at 4am,  when my mother woke me up and told me to get ready for we are going to the market. Not sure why, but what would a 10 year old boy would think. TOYS!

We went to the fish section and then to the meat section of our local market. She taught me how to spot good fish and how a fresh meat/pork looks like. Not really focusing on why my mother was teaching me this (still focus on the TOYS). Then after doing the market stuff, we went home (no TOYS) but not disappointed (not really sure why) but I was happy. It was a bonding moment I had with my mother. A time I will remember and cherish.

This Christmas is the a for my Family, for this year we will be spending it without a mother to cook for us, remind us of our gifts buying, preparing a small feast for us and giving us that magical smile that always lifts our spirits higher.

That’s why I ha a hard time writing this post. But I’m glad that Kraft Eden Cheese is giving tribute to Mother’s in this blessed occasion to the most worthiest of person in everybody’s lives, our MOTHERS’.

Eden Sarap ng Pasko: Dahil sa Iyo, Ma

The campaign tagline best summarizes what Eden wants to give moms. It starts with the heart-warming Eden TV commercial that illustrates the many things Moms go through, all to make family celebrations more memorable. It ends aptly with the line, “Para sa lahat ng paskong pinagsisikapan mo, salamat ma.”

As my friend Jo, told me after watching the video. “Dante, It made me cry! It made cry!” It really touch a special part in everyone’s heart.

That’s why Eden wanted to share your stories to everyone through a video competition among college students. The video that will be decided as most inspiring and will able to capture a heart warming story of how Moms make Christmas special will be unveiled on the brand’s webpage www.sarapngpasko.com this coming November.

1. What does Eden stand for?

Eden Cheese stands for making family moments more special. Eden does this by enhancing moms’ dishes and making them more delicious. The brand aims to help moms in their role as the “makers” of Christmas. When there’s special and delicious food, mom gets to create that special family bonding, which is a sight that is especially dear to her.

2. Why does Eden want to make Christmas special?

Christmas is one of the most anticipated holidays for Filipinos. With its long heritage of making Filipino lives more delicious since 1981, Eden wants to help make this most awaited season more memorable for moms and their families.

3. What is the purpose of Eden’s Christmas Campaign?

Eden makes dishes, and especially Christmas Noche Buena dishes more delicious with its creamy taste. Apart from making the celebrations more malinamnam, Eden wants to give recognition to the people who cook the dishes and who really make Christmas happen: Moms. Through our initiatives for TV and digital media, we aim to give thanks to moms for the roles they play in making Christmas more special for everyone.

4. Who is the Eden mom?

The Eden mom is a nurturing mom. She is all about family enjoyment. That is why many of her activities revolve around her family. She always wants to make sure her family is well taken care of. And when it comes to food, she is no different. In fact, she finds food preparation highly important as she considers this an expression of her love.

5. What is Eden Sarap ng Pasko?

Eden Sarap ng Pasko is the brand’s traditional Christmas campaign. Year on year, Eden engages its consumers and makes their Christmas experience more special through campaigns that are especially relevant and that celebrate the season of giving.

This year, the brand gives recognition to the key person behind every Christmas. This has always been the most anticipated time of the year and no one takes extra effort to make this festive and worth spending with the family than moms. As a brand that understands Moms, Eden knows just how important it is to make every Christmas special for the family. From wrapping gifts to decorating the entire house, to cooking; it’s mom who does everything.

To show appreciation, Eden would like to acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of every Mom in making her family’s Christmas memorable through her dishes. Hence, our campaign Eden Sarap ng Pasko: Dahil Sa Iyo, Ma.

Choose Shoe for Christmas… and Spread the Movement

Last night I was introduces TOMS. A shoe brand that not only produces stylish pair of shoes but a shoe brands that gives back to children that have not worn any shoes for a long time.

In many developing countries, children must walk barefoot for miles to school, clean water and medical help. Hundreds of millions of children are at risk of injury, infection and soil-transmitted diseases that most can’t afford to prevent and treat.

Children who are healthy are more likely to be successful students, and access to education is a critical determinant of long-term success. A village of healthy, educated children have a better chance of improving the future of their entire community.

Watch this…

HOW DOES IT WORK?

What I like about TOMS One-for-One is that they don’t just give it to any organizations. They coordinate with the organization and actually goes to the place that are in need.

Step 1. Identify a need: Rely on local experts to identify communities that will benefit most from shoes due to economic, health, and education needs, and where local business will not be affected.

Step 2. Establish a partnership: Vet NGO partners on the ground for expertise and capabilities. Establish a sustainable giving partnership. Monitor for accountability.

Step 3. Give..and give again: Once we identify a community and partner, we set up a schedule to give, then give again as children grow.

WE DON’T GIVE ONCE AND LEAVE

The best thing about TOMS One-for-One is that they keep giving. Kids grow out of shoes. So TOMS will continue to provide a pair of shoes to a kid twice a year till the child is 16.

Now that is what I call commitment.

That’s is why I encourage you to buy TOMS shoes this coming Christmas Holiday. Not only will be a good Christmas gift but it will be a bridge to make our community and country strong in the future.
