I grew up with the original Karate Kid series ( except Hilary Swank’s movie). This was a time were an ordinary kid can stand up and be a man in his own way.

The new Karate kid is something to watch for. Our hero is a much younger kid in a very different land. Same basic plot, the kid tries to fit in but a bully always kicks him down. But the thing is that is always being love by the masses. Is the way how the hero struggles to strengthen himself to be the best he can be.

The thing that was very surprising to me was seeing Jacky Chan as a the master (alternate Pat Morita). He also have a different style of teaching, but still using some ordinary stuff as putting on and taking off your jacket as a karate move(wax in… wax off).
